Shadrack "Shaddy" Oppong is a talented and versatile drummer and producer who experiments with a wide range of genres, including Afrobeat, reggae, hip-hop, gospel, jazz, alternative rock, and R&B. Born and raised in Obuasi, Ghana, Shaddy discovered his love for drumming at the young age of 14 while playing in church. With over 15 years of professional experience, Shaddy is a self-taught drummer who has honed his skills through hard work and determination. He has worked with a diverse group of artists, producers, and musical directors, including Akesse Brempong, Rocket House, Moncho Berry, and Bade, to name a few. From 2014 to 2018, Shaddy served as the drummer for Akesse Brempong, including during his Agape Carnival Tour in cities throughout Ghana. Shaddy's drumming skills have not gone unnoticed. Through a series of viral videos, he has become a popular and influential drummer in West Africa and beyond. His unique and deep-rooted style of drumming has inspired countless musicians and fans around the world. In 2019, Shaddy was awarded a full-tuition scholarship to attend the prestigious Berklee College of Music, where he earned a degree in Professional Music with concentrations in Music Production and Music Business. During his time at Berklee, he studied with some of the world's leading music educators and performers, including Jon Hazilla, Ron Savage, Neal Smith, and Billy Kilson. Shaddy is now pursuing his master's in contemporary music performance in Global Jazz at the Berklee Global Jazz Institute under the mentorship of Danilo Perez, John Patitucci, Marco Pignataro, Ron Savage and Tia Fuller, to name a few. He is working on his debut album, SHADDYCITY, set to be released in the summer of 2024. He is combining his African roots with musical elements and styles from around the world to create a unique and innovative sound.

WHAT IS SHADDY CITY?
Essentially, SHADDY CITY aims to provide a platform for young Ghanaians to showcase their musical talents, raise awareness about the value of music education, and empower individuals to use music as a means of self-expression, community building, and economic development. As a musician, it is evident that you understand the power of music and its potential to impact people's lives. SHADDY CITY seeks to create a space where young, talented musicians can come together and share their gifts with the world. By promoting the importance of music education, SHADDY CITY aims to help the next generation of musicians develop their skills and reach their full potential. Additionally, SHADDY CITY aims to empower individuals to use music as a tool for self-expression, which can be incredibly powerful for individuals looking to express themselves creatively and emotionally. By fostering a community around music, we hope to bring people together and promote a sense of unity and belonging. Finally, by using music as a tool for economic development, we aim to help young musicians turn their passion into a livelihood and contribute to the growth and success of their local communities. Overall, we are committed to using music as a force for good, and "SHADDYCITY" is a manifestation of that goal.
